Principal's Message

Welcome to Greenon Junior High School and the 2021-22 school year!

The staff and I are pleased to have you as part of our school community and will do our best to make your experience productive and successful.  All efforts of the school are focused on providing a quality education and effective learning environment that prepares students to accept responsibility and succeed in their family, place of work, and society.

Junior High School is an important transition time for students.  They are dealing with significant physical, emotional, and academic changes.  Together, we can help students work through these challenges and prepare them well for a successful high school experience.

The Student-Parent handbook answers many commonly asked questions and contains important information that you are responsible for knowing. The schools’ rules and procedures are designed to allow students to be educated in a safe and orderly environment. All students are expected to follow staff members’ directions, obey all school rules, arrive at school on time and prepared to learn.

In order to keep families informed of their child’s progress, parents are provided information on a regular basis and whenever concerns arise. Parents are encouraged to join with their child’s teacher/s and support staff in creating a two-way link of communication. Please keep the school informed of suggestions or concerns that may help your child better accomplish their educational goals.

The safety of your child is the school’s number one priority.  All staff members are familiar with emergency procedures, and drills are held to teach students how to respond in emergencies. Please remember that if you or your child see something, please say something. Student safety is the responsibility of both students and staff.

Greenon Local Schools use Final Forms for parents to complete virtual paperwork.  It is required that all students have an emergency medical authorization completed by a parent or guardian. Parents whose child has specific health care needs should alert the school regarding those needs, in writing and with proper documentation by a physician, to the school office.

Sincerely,
Thomas Misenko
